International Trademark Watch Service

The Ladas & Parry International Trademark Watch Service covers over 150 countries and jurisdictions including the United States. Our Watch Department receives, by airmail or courier, copies of official trademark gazettes and similar publications from all these countries and jurisdictions. We monitor receipt of the gazettes and, where necessary, obtain missing or delayed gazettes by fax through our extensive and long-standing network of foreign associates.

Members of Ladas & Parry's Watch Department, fluent in all the major languages of commerce, promptly review published marks in the gazettes and compare them with the trademarks in our watch system. A sophisticated and customized computer program supports our trademark analysts; it tracks our subscribers' trademarks and facilitates cross-checking of newly published marks.

We also maintain a visual display of subscribers' logos and design marks which are scanned into our search program. The images are specifically identified in the computer program for quick and accurate comparison with images in the gazettes.

However, state-of-the-art computer checking is only half the story. Our staff is alert to phonetic similarities, to subtleties of language, and to the attempted registration of dictionary terms or names that can potentially conflict with our subscribers' marks. The quality of our service depends largely on the intelligence, skill, linguistic ability and experience of our highly trained staff who have the expertise and judgment to make effective use of a wide range of resources.

Our Watch Letters can be sent to as many people connected with your organization as you may wish at no additional charge.
